Where it all began...

Having grown up with dogs, I love how much warmth and happiness they bring to the home. With that in mind I couldn’t wait to have a dog of my own as part of my family. And as a result, Dori arrived in 2006 with only a small amount of reluctance from my husband!

Unfortunately, it soon became apparent that Dori had been born with dwarfism and Carpal Valgus, an angular forelimb deformity that causes the paws to turn out. This was of course upsetting, but I set about researching ways to support her and her mobility issues. While starting this, my interest into the biomechanics and physiology of dogs grew.

It wasn’t too long before our second dog, Perdi, arrived and it became apparent that she needed a job to do. So, we started our journey training and competing in Agility. Whilst participating in this sport, my interest in canine physiology increased as I witnessed the amount of additional pressure, impact and strain there was on my dog’s body.

Canine Rebalance was born...

During this time, I completed a two-year diploma with the Canine Massage Therapy Centre and soon after Canine Rebalance was born. Since then I have continually increased my qualifications and skills in a wide range of therapies including Joint Mobilisation, Cranial-Sacral Therapy, Acupressure and Canine Exercise Rehabilitation. I have also achieved a diploma in Canine Rehabilitation Therapy and a 2nd degree in Reiki. This enables me to rehabilitate, support, and provide great outcomes for all kinds of dogs with a wide range of issues and conditions.

I am a Manual Therapist Member of the Institute of Registered Veterinary and Animal Physiotherapists (IRVAP) and also a founder conditioningyourcanine.co.uk

Dogs are incredibly emotional and spiritual animals and just like us, their emotional and spiritual balances differ greatly. I therefore believe that it is important to always treat the dog in front of you, no matter what issue and/or condition, each and every dog will require a different approach to their rehabilitation and support plan, along with their owners too.

Canine Rebalance has been supporting dogs and their owners since 2014. It has been an incredible journey so far and I love how each dog teaches me something new!
